The Docking Station of Heaven

July 27, 2021

Today may not be a good day for you. You may be tired, discouraged, and ready to give up. David felt that way too. David was in a bad mental space. He was discouraged and ready to give up. David came clean about his feelings to God and begged God to give him a word to encourage him and steer him in the right direction.

Like David, give God your heart today. Load up all the problems the enemy has thrown at you and take them to the docking station of heaven and unload them at the feet of the Father. Stop acting as if you can conquer the world when you are in dire need of God’s intervention. God will come to your aid. He will give you a word for your situation and give you direction in the way you should go.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for allowing me to come to you broken and afraid. Give me a word for my situation and a clear path for me to walk. In Jesus name. Amen

Scripture: Show me your faithful love this morning.
I trust in you. Show me what I should do.
I put my life in your hands! Psalm 143:8 (ERV)

This is not your Fight

July 26, 2021

Life has its moments of pain and despair. The times when the enemy is pressing and you can’t find the strength to fight, go to the Father and ask for help. The Good Father knows your struggles. He knows the enemy is after you and He knows when you are too weak to fight. Although God is fully aware of your trials and temptations, He desires for you to want His intervention and trust His process and His timing. All battles are not meant for you to fight. Some battles are meant for God and God alone.

Prayer: Lord, I am not equipped to fight this battle. I release this problem to you, and have faith that you will come out victorious! In Jesus’ name. Amen

Scripture: He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. 2 Chronicls 20:15 (NIV)

Prove your Love

June 10, 2021

Relationships are important to Christ. When Jesus feels the relationship is one-sided, He gently reminds us with words for us to ponder on. How many times have you disobeyed God and as a result you end up losing out on one of the greatest journeys of your life? Daily, we profess our love for Christ and daily we lose sight of His faithfulness by disobeying His commands. Take time today to reevaluate your actions. If you find that you have been disobedient to the commands of God, repent and ask God to clear your ear gate and open your heart so you can better receive and obey the commands given to you.

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for the times I refused to listen to your commands. Help me to hear your voice only and obey, so I can receive the bountiful blessings of my Heavenly Father while proving our relationship to be first in my life.

Scripture: “If you love me, you will do what I command. John 14:15 (ERV)

Downpour of Hope

June 8, 2021

Humans are fickle at best. Due to the hurt and pain that people have caused in our lives, we tend to shy away from relationships until the person can offer something that will captivate the soul and bring all worries to ease. We do not have to do that with God. Abba Father has proven over and over how faithful He is. Even in times of distress, God will release an outpour of hope that will take hopelessness captive while sending dewdrops of joy and peace to your mind, soul, and spirit. Trust in the God of hope. He will secure your peace of mind and make you whole again.

Prayer: When the storms of life send hopelessness my way, Lord, send a downpour of hope so I can make it through the day. Amen

Scripture:  I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace as you trust in him. Then you will have more and more hope, and it will flow out of you by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (ERV)

Hope in God

February 4,2021

Hope in God is something we either have or we don’t. There is no grey area. Hope gives us the security in knowing that everything will be alright. Hope is the gentle hand in the morning waking us up to a brand-new day. Hope soothes our doubt and calms our fear in times of trouble. Hope restores and forgives.

A life without hope is like driving a car without gas. You set out on a journey but never arrive because you did not take the time to see what you needed before you took off. Let God be your hope today. Take the hand cuffs off your issues and hand them over to God being secure in your decision, trusting that everything will be alight.

Prayer: Whatever may come, Lord my hope is in you. Help me to remove doubt and replace it with faith. Help me to have hope instead of despair. I trust you Lord with my whole heart. My hope is in you. Amen

Scripture: “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you. Psalm 39:7

Faith Redefined

January 19, 2021

Sometimes faith in things is stronger than faith in God. For instance, when we get out of the bed in the morning, we do not question that we will have running water to prepare for the day. When it is time to leave home, we do not hesitate on believing that the car will work as soon as the key is placed in the ignition.

Think about it, if we were to put the faith we have for the things of this world into the things of God, the load of pain and worry we carry can be placed at the feet of the Master and there will be rest for our soul. Today, right now, change your focus and faith to God. To live a life filled with peace and joy, break the walls of mistrust, and give God access to your life. The only way to be “made well” is to believe.

Prayer: When I choose to believe in the world instead of you, Lord redirect my mind and increase my faith. I now understand that to be made well is to believe in You. Amen

Scripture: Jesus said to her, “My daughter, you are made well because you believed. Go in peace.” Luke 8:48 (ERV)

There is Freedom in Forgiveness

There are some things that have been said about you or done to you that may seem unforgiveable. As soon as those thoughts enter your mind, you become angry and the pain your soul harbors is unbearable. When the trauma of betrayal haunts you, it is time to have a sit down with God and ask Him to help you forgive so you can be free. Freedom from forgiveness is not about the other person. Sure, you may have to speak to them if you see them again or be the one to feed them when they are hungry, but the real meaning of forgiveness is freeing your heart to feel, to love, and to smile again.

Take a moment to reflect on the past and filter out the things that you have done that may have caused someone to feel the same as you feel. If you dig deep enough you will find moments where your actions (whether intentional or unintentional) have caused someone pain. We should never get to the point to where we forget the pain or sins, we have committed against others and especially against God. These small reminders will allow the heart to remain open for forgiveness and help you to understand (not tolerate) the actions of others. When we ask for forgiveness (repent), God throws the sin into the sea of forgetfulness (Micah 7:19) and remembers them no more. Because you are not God, because you can remember, you must forgive the sin and move on in peace and healing knowing that you have just freed yourself from bondage.

Prayer: Lord, help me to understand the human heart and how it may hurt other people. Help me to understand that when I have been hurt that I must forgive for forgiveness was also granted to me. Teach me how to love beyond my limitations and be at peace in times of turmoil. Thank you for granting me another chance to make forgiveness my choice. Amen

Scripture: Do the best you can to live in peace with everyone.  My friends, don’t try to punish anyone who does wrong to you. Wait for God to punish them with his anger. In the Scriptures the Lord says, “I am the one who punishes;
I will pay people back. But you should do this: “If you have enemies who are hungry, give them something to eat. If you have enemies who are thirsty, give them something to drink. Romans 12:18-20

Thank you for the Cross

January 12, 2021

When Jesus went to the cross, that was the greatest ransom ever paid. There were no questions, no pushback nor did Jesus complain. He paid a price for our lives without asking for anything in return. The price He paid guaranteed us a seat into heaven only if we in return would live a life totally sold out to Him. Like the thief on the cross, we should be grateful in being a willing participant of the crucifix experience.

To the debt that can never be repaid, thank you. For being captured and beaten for our sake, we say thank you. For paying the highest ransom ever asked for, Jesus we thank you. Your love and kindness can never be repaid. We have never known a love like this, and we will cherish this love till the day you return.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus for the cross. Thank you for your love and your compassion toward us. All the money in the world could never repay you for giving your life so that we can be free. We love you Jesus; we await the day of your return so we can reign with you forever.

Scripture: You know that in the past the way you were living was useless. It was a way of life you learned from those who lived before you. But you were saved from that way of living. You were bought, but not with things that ruin like gold or silver. You were bought with the precious blood of Christ’s death. He was a pure and perfect sacrificial Lamb. Christ was chosen before the world was made, but he was shown to the world in these last times for you. 1 Peter 1:18-20

The Power to Change

January 11, 2021

What you speak when your feet hit the floor dictates the outcome of your day. Just like seeds are sown and reap a harvest, so do your words. God has given each of us the power to declare with our mouths anything we need or would like to change. My question to you today is, how do you plan to use your power?

Will you use your voice to uplift or tear down? Will you use your voice to build or to destroy? However, you choose to use your power, make sure that God can take those words and create a manifestation of blessings that will show His glory and give those without hope the power to speak into their own life and receive what they have declared and decreed. People are watching. Most important, God is listening. Tame your tongue to edify God, honor yourself daily, and speak love and life to those around you.

Prayer: Teach me to train my tongue to speak only good. When my soul is tested, Holy Spirit rise up and convict me from damaging myself and others with the power of speaking destruction. Amen

Scripture: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. Proverbs 18:22 (ESV)

Mercy Changed me

January 6, 2021

Waking up in the morning is God’s gift of a new day. This gift should persuade us to choose a new way of thinking and a change of attitude. For us to live our best life, God has granted us new mercies to right our wrongs so we can become more spiritually grounded in Him. God wants us to seize the day with prayer, reading His word, and applying those principals to our life so we can become better people.

Mercy is kind. Mercy is forgiving. Mercy stands in front of our sins and whispers to God to grant us one more chance to get it right. When was the last time you appreciated God’s mercy and made some changes for the better? Take a moment today to show God you love Him by working hard at being better than you were the day before.

Prayer: Lord, there are days when I struggle in doing the right thing. Please forgive me. Help me to appreciate the gift you have given me by making the necessary changes in my life so you can be proud of me. Mercy has saved me over and over, and for that God I just want to say thank you. Amen

Scripture:  Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God has great mercy, and because of his mercy he gave us a new life. This new life brings us a living hope through Jesus Christ’s resurrection from death. 1 Peter 1:3

Strategic Prayer

January 5, 2021

Women, moms especially, are ready for anything. Whether its school drop offs, football practice, or taking care of a house full of sick children, we are always prepared for the best and the worst. This is how we should be with prayer.

God wants us to be strategic in our prayer life. He wants us to take on the task of being watchful and thankful at the same time. God wants us watchful for the trials ahead and thankful for the lessons to come. In everything God wants us to be grateful. In every situation God wants us to be steadfast in prayer.

There will be times when staying prayerful is hard and remaining thankful will be difficult, but when we trust God’s plan for our life, we will become strong enough to face the rough times ahead remaining prayerful and praising God all the way.

Prayer: There will be times when I do not understand your plan. Lord, in the midst of it all teach me to stay the course and remain thankful for in the good and in the bad.

Scripture: Never stop praying. Be ready for anything by praying and being thankful. Colossians 4:2 (ERV)

Reflections

January 4, 2021

When someone gives you a compliment do you tear the compliment down immediately because you refuse to believe the beauty and power that is inside you? Do you look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how horrible you look and nobody wants you?

God was strategic when He created you. From your beautiful hair head down to those well-designed toes, God saw you and deemed you as wonderful. Stop looking at the person people laughed at, the person people talked about, or the person you have allowed the enemy to tell you that you are. Just because they said it does not mean that it is true. Those words were spoken over you were designed to tear you down and to stop you from reaching your full potential in God.

You are beauty, you are grace, and you are strength. You are a representation of God and your soul drips with His nature. The next time you walk past the mirror, stop, and admire who you are. Tell yourself you are all together lovely and God created you splendidly and magnificently well.

Prayer: Help me Lord to see the beauty that you created. Help me to love myself beyond the negative words and the powerless laughs. Thank you for creating me with style, beauty, and grace. You looked and me and was pleased…….I shall look at me and be pleased as well. Amen

Scripture: I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:14

Get Back up!

Struggles are meant to keep us down. Satan, the mastermind of evil has strategically created pitfalls to make us give up and never walk in our full potential in God. When the issues of life start to rage, cling to God’s hope. That hope catches us when we fall and strengthens us when we are weak. It does not matter how many times we fall. What matters is finding the strength to get back up and start all over again.

Prayer: In seasons of distress and grief, I will cling to your hope Oh God. Strengthen me when I fall as I cling to your hope to get back up again.

Scripture: Good people might fall again and again, but they always get up. It is the wicked who are defeated by their troubles. Proverbs 24:16

Finish me Lord

October 21, 2020

God created you with purpose. God did not create you without a strategic vision and a plan of purpose, walking away leaving you empty and without a map to your destiny. Sure, there are side roads and pitfalls that come with fulfilling your purpose. Even in those moments of confusion, God is there leading the way. You may have lost sight of the road to destiny, but the vision is still clear. Stop fretting, God will not allow you to be lost forever. There is a work that must be completed in you. The work will get done, but you must have faith and give God your availability to complete His perfect work.

Prayer: Lord, I am available to you. Finish the work that you have started in me so that my purpose will be fulfilled in the earth. Amen

Scripture: Finish what you started in me, God. Your love is eternal—don’t quit on me now. Psalm 138:8

Who Rules your Spirit?

October 19, 2020

Difficult situations often cause for wisdom and a level-headed mindset. When was the last time you sat down and thought about a situation instead of overreacting? As believers, God wants us to handle people with love, kindness, and care. God also wants us to handle our issues in the same manner. The next time life throws you a curve ball, take a moment to concentrate on Christ.

If this were His problem, how would He handle it? And what position would He choose to stand in? Would He stand in faith and give it to God, or would He allow anger, rage and unforgiveness to rule His spirit and cause enmity between Him and God? Protect your spirit by exposing it to God’s word so you will be able to rule your spirit and handle life’s uncertainties with the heart of Christ.

Prayer: On the days I feel like losing control, Holy Spirit, guide my mind to think like Christ and make sure my spirit is ruled by the word and not by my emotions. Amen

Scripture: A person without self-control is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out. Proverbs 25:28 (MSG)

Failure is not an Option

October 14, 2020

You did not fail. What you tried did not work and now you must stand up from the blow of disapointment and start over again. God has given you a special assignment that you have been carrying since birth. The vision may seem difficult to obtain but you are well equipped to carry the torch of success, if you will but trust God and have faith that your promise will manifest and that in God failure is not an option.

Prayer: When everything I have tried fails, Lord, I will put my trust in you. Amen

Scripture: I am sure that the good work God began in you will continue until he completes it on the day when Jesus Christ comes again. Philippians 1:6 (ERV)

Do The Work!

08/25/2020

In the desert somewhere, there is a project you have been working on and you left it there to die out of fear and complacency. To finish this project, you have to put in hard work and sacrifices that you feel you really do not have time for. Take a moment and ponder this…..what if the very thing you left dying in the desert is the thing God will use to change your life and open the window of abundance and breakthrough?

It takes wisdom and determination to get the job done. God gave you the vision, now it is time for you to recover your superpower and get to work! There are people waiting for what you have to offer. You may not see them, but God have strategically designed them just for you. Whatever you are lacking, God will give you. Whatever you need, God will supply. Go into the desert of dying dreams and finish the work!

Prayer: Lord, help me to rediscover my passion and go after it with all my heart. You gave me the vision, now give me the wisdom and strength to carry it through. Amen

Scripture: It is better to finish something  than to start it.
It is better to be gentle and patient than to be proud and impatient. Ecclesiates 7:8

Too Much to Carry

08/18/2020

Emotional baggage is the catalyst for unhappiness. There are times when the baggage we carry is too heavy, but we choose to carry that troublesome load to impress our soul, all the while convincing ourselves that “I can do this.” Choose your battles wisely.

God is patiently waiting for you. He is waiting for you to release your pain into His loving arms so that He can break the yoke of heartache that has disrupted your beautiful heart. Trust God with your load of pain. He will make sure that not one hair on your head will be singed. God will love you, preserve you, and make you are whole again.

Prayer: God, my heart is weary. I am tired of carrying this unwanted load. Today, right now, I lay it all at your feet. I trust you to make me whole again. Amen

Scripture: Pray to the Lord, and he will hear you. He will save you from all your troubles. The Lord is close to those who have suffered disappointment. He saves those who are discouraged. Good people might have many problems, but the Lord will take them all away.
He will protect them completely. Not one of their bones will be broken. Psalm 34:17-20

Never Alone

08/11/2020

For the sake of comfort, we are not alone. The Holy Spirit, our comforter and guide, is within us waiting to tell God the most pressing issues of our heart. Those days when the pain is too heavy to bear, the Holy Spirit goes to God for us carrying pain that is too deep for words.

The next time the enemy whispers that you are alone and no one is there for you, put up your shield of faith and tell Him that the comforter is there, making sure that God will show up for you in ways you couldn’t imagine.

Prayer: Thank you, Holy Spirit, for showing up for me when I could not show up for myself. I give you full reign over my emotions because I trust that you will tell God the most painful details of my situation. Amen

Scripture: Also, the Spirit helps us. We are very weak, but the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We don’t know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself speaks to God for us. He begs God for us, speaking to him with feelings too deep for words. Romans 8:26 (ERV)

Nothing is too Hard for God

08/05/2020

Think about the hardest trial of your life. Now think about everyone you called to help you out, but no one was able to give you what you needed. Not because they did not want to, but because they were not equipped to handle your situation. God is omnipotent (all power). There is no problem or situation known to man that He cannot take care of. God is standing near you with open arms waiting for you to hand Him your problems. Time to tear down the walls of fear and allow your trust to be without borders.

Prayer: When the storms of life try to take me down, God, I will turn to you. I surrender my will for you will and I trust that you will see me through. Amen

Scripture: “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27

God’s Faithful Protection

08/03/2020

When was the last time you felt the arms of God surround you to the point that you felt as if nothing could harm you? God’s greatest gift to you besides His Son is His loving and protecting arms shielding and hiding you from the snares of the enemy. Those moments where life seems unsure, those moments when you feel afraid, shift your focus to God and tell the enemy that God have come to your rescue!

Prayer: God, thank you for your protective hand. Thank you for hiding me and preserving me from the hands of the wicked one. No longer will I spend days worrying about tomorrow when you are already there making sure everything is okay.

Scripture: But you, God, shield me on all sides; You ground my feet, you lift my head high;
With all my might I shout up to God, His answers thunder from the holy mountain. Psalm 3:3 (MSG)

Whispers

6/08/2020

Our ears are overly sensitive parts of the body that can pick up a sound from miles away. Although there are certain sounds that aggravate the ear gate, there is one sound that will try to dampen your spirit and ignite doubt within your soul. The enemy is the silent whisperer that tells lies and will scheme you into handing him over your self-worth. In those moments of confusion, begin to call out to the Good shepherd for protection. When you hear His voice, allow the peace within to remove the whispers of doubt and fill you with a Holy boost of confidence!

Prayer: Help me Lord, to drown out the enemies voice with your sweet whispers of love. In Jesus name. Amen

Scripture: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: John 10:27

One, Two, Three….Knockout!

6/1/2020

There will be days when the enemy will try to weaken you and throw you into the arms of people or situations that are meant to destroy you. The more you fight, the more satan will press. Do not lose hope. God is standing in the shadows just waiting on you to cry out to Him so He can jump in the ring of fury and beat the devil with one punch! No matter the test, God is faithful. His love and power will protect you and give you the strength needed to prevail.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for your protection and strength. Those days when I am weak, you make sure that all my battles are fought and won. Your love and power are what saves me and give me hope for another day. Amen

Scripture: But the Lord is faithful. He will give you strength and protect you from the Evil One. 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Never Give up Hope

4/6/2020

As a kid, when we saw something we wanted, we hoped that we would get it. Now that we are adults, what we don’t see, we hope to get it, and trust God for it. What is it that you want that you don’t have? What is it that you need that you don’t see any way of getting it? Hope in God. Believe that God is there for you. Never allow what you see to decide what God won’t do. Trust that God loves you and that He knows what is best for you.

Prayer: Lord, my hope is in you. When my patience runs out from waiting, show me that you are still there, taking care of my need. Amen

Scripture: We were saved to have this hope. If we can see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People don’t hope for something they already have. But we are hoping for something we don’t have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently. Romans 8:24-25

Patiently Waiting

3/25/2020

There will be days when trusting God is the last choice and going back to what’s familiar seems like the only choice. When troubles come and we purposely forget who God is just to satisfy a selfish need, God is on the sidelines patiently waiting with open arms for you to come back to Him. He doesn’t wait for you because He needs you, He waits for your return because He loves you and He know what is best for you. Trust God with your troubles and return to Him. Allow Him to pick up the broken pieces of your life and put it back together again.

Prayer: Lord, I have strayed from you. Please forgive me. Thank you for loving me through my rebellious phase and making me whole again. Amen

Scripture: For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him. 2 Chronicles 30:9b

God is Good

2/17/2020

Most people think God have some vendetta against them due to the loss and the tragedies that have happened in their life. They are angry at God and have their mind made up that they will never see God in the way some Christians see Him. What they don’t understand is that God is a God of love and compassion. He will never hurt you or devastate you to the point of hating Him. What happened to you is painful. Whether it was from choices, life’s circumstances or the choice of another, God’s love and compassion is here to rescue you and heal you from the pain that you carry.

Prayer: Lord, the times when I get angry and blame you for my pain, help my mind understand that you are my Father and your love for me will never hurt me. Amen

Scripture: The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. Psalm 145:8-9

Ready to be Sharpened

2/3/2020

Introverts like me love to be alone. Although we require solitude, there is a clear understanding that we need companionship to survive. Some people go through life pretending to need no one when their heart is craving friendship and affection. God understands that your heart have been broken, what God needs you to understand is that He can heal your heart so you can connect with like-minded people who will genuinely love you, tell you when you are wrong and encourage you while on life’s journey. Go ahead, put your heart on the line. Allow God to connect you with some amazing people who will help you love and to smile again.

Prayer: Heal my heart Lord, so I can become friendly and open to beautiful relationships. Relationships that will last the test of time and help me through the storms and celebrations of this life. Amen

Scripture: As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)

Jesus Cried Too

1/28/2020

Pain is inevitable. Whether its death, sickness, mishaps in life or a bad break-up, we can be sure to experience pain at some point in our life. We are not alone. Jesus in His humanity experienced the pain of losing his best friend. Although He have the power to resurrect him, there was still moments of grieve and heartache that drove Him to tears. Whatever pains you today, trust that Christ understands your pain and be in pursuit of the peace that will calm your shaken soul. Yes, Jesus wept, but He also had work to do. Even in pain, Jesus drew strength from the Father to let the world know that weakness will come and tragedies will happen, but there is a power beyond the imaginable that we can draw from to gain strength for life’s journey.

Prayer: In my moments of pain and weakness, Lord, I draw my strength from you. Amen

Scripture: Jesus wept. John 11:35

A Lighter Load

1/27/2020

Burdens are a heavy load to carry. For a person to carry years of baggage filled with hurt, guilt and shame, the results can lead to a miserable life plagued with mental and physical illness. Why carry the weight of the world on your back when Jesus took all your cares to the cross? It was at the cross where Jesus took on the pain and the sins of the world just so you wouldn’t have to suffer. When was the last time you took your bag of worries and laid them at the feet of the Master? Free yourself of the load that you have carried and allow Jesus to give you His peace and sweet rest.

Prayer: Lord, help me to lay down this burden and give me a lighter load to carry. I won’t rest until I have rid myself of the weight that have hindered me and tried to destroy my life. Amen

Scripture: “Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest.  Accept my teaching. Learn from me. I am gentle and humble in spirit. And you will be able to get some rest.  Yes, the teaching that I ask you to accept is easy. The load I give you to carry is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (ERV)

Never A Broken Promise

1/24/2020

How many times have we been promised something from a person and they never followed through? Depending on the promise, we can be left hurt, confused, lacking trust, and sometimes angry. God will never leave you feeling that way. When God makes a promise, He holds good on that which He has said. No, the promise may not manifest as soon as it spoken, but God will make sure that everything He have said concerning you will come to pass. Let go of the mistrust of people and start putting your trust in God. The world is filled with imperfect people, but we serve a loving and perfect God. Let your guard down today and allow your trust to be without borders.

Prayer: Lord, show me in your word all of your promises and how you have fulfilled each one, so I can learn to put my trust in you and not in the things of this world. Amen

Scripture: Lord, I know you will do what you have promised. Lord, your faithful love will last forever. You are the one who made us, so don’t leave us! Psalm 138:8

Just Faith

1/21/2020

Remember as a kid going to your mother to ask for something? Your heart was beating fast, plus you rehearsed your begging line for hours just to make sure you said the right words so she can say yes. You don’t have to do that with God. You can go to the Father anytime you want with whatever issue or pressing matter that you have. There is one requirement. That is that you have faith. No rehearsed lines, no pounding heart, just activated faith.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for allowing me to come to you empty and broken. Ignite my faith Lord, and help my unbelief. Amen

Scripture: And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Fear is a Good Thing

1/20/2020

To fear God is to love, to reverence, and to worship Him. God is not some big bully who makes people do what He wants them to do. On the contrary. God is kind, loving, gentle, and forgiving. God is not pushy; He gives us choices in hopes that we make the right decision so we can reap the good life He has promised us. The fear of God brings us good things; protection, peace and everlasting life. Fear God today. Your faithfulness to Him is the key that opens the door to your best life yet!

Prayer: Thank you Lord for showing me your steadfast love. In return, I will learn of you, adore you, and praise you while I yet live. Amen

Scripture: The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm. Proverbs 19:23

No More Fear!

1/15/2020

Fear is the catalyst for defeat. When entertained, fear can become the reason for failures and multiple setbacks. So many burial sites are filled with dead dreams, unopened gifts and great potential because of fear. There is only one sure way a person can defeat fear and that is with trust in God. Trusting God isn’t always easy. One must begin with a determined heart and a made-up mind that fear will no longer rule them. God is all powerful. If He can create the world in six days (He rested day seven), then He can surely destroy fear as soon as you turn it over to Him.

Prayer: When fear comes upon me and try viciously to destroy my dreams, I will not try to fight this presence alone but trust God completely and come out victorious! Amen

Scripture: Fear can be a trap, but if you trust in the Lord, you will be safe. Proverbs 29:25 (ERV)

God has a Question

1/14/2020

Daily we come to God questioning His power and His authority. We get on our soap box of complaints and try to make God feel guilty for not arriving at the appointed time that we have given Him. God being who He is, so lovingly and kindly keeps silent until His work is complete. While you are hysterically wondering why God is silent, His spirit gently whispers, “Is there anything to hard for God?”

Prayer: On days when I am distracted by the woes of this world and feel the need to rush God, help me Lord to stand still and to wait on you. Amen

Scripture: “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27

Unconditional Love

Truthfully, people can be fickle at best. They will love you today and don’t speak to you tomorrow. Jesus isn’t like that. Jesus’ love never has to be questioned, nor His motives placed under a microscope. His love for you isn’t based on conditions. His love is truth, grace, mercy, joy, sacrifice and peace. If you are feeling unloved or lonely today, take a moment to explore the cross. The cross is the place where love was proven, and you mattered more than anything in this world.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus for loving me beyond my faults and sins. Thank you for curing my lonliness with your love. Amen

Scripture: As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. John 15:9

YOU are not Alone

1/9/2020

When God created man and woman, He did not intend for us to walk this life alone. In our quest for good friends and companionship, God has strategically placed us in the hearts of people who will love us and pray for us, while helping carry the burdens of this life. Yes, God takes the burdens and the cares of this world and make them easier for us to carry, but there is just something about a friend (who is always there for you) who makes life on this earth just a little more tolerable. Stop thinking you can “do life” all on your own. Open your heart today, let someone know that you are struggling with the weight of this world, and allow them to carry some of your burden. Just because you choose to be alone doesn’t mean that you should. Even in the soul, there is safety in numbers.

Prayer: When I want to isolate myself and tell myself that I don’t need anyone. Send a trusting person my way who will help me take on the struggles of this world. Amen

Scripture: Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galations 6:2

Love Anyhow

1/7/2020

There is a misconceived notion about love. Some people think love is more physical than emotional, while others think love is more inward than outward. However, people categorize it, there is only one requirement. That we love everybody and treat people the way we would like to be treated

Before you begin your day, ask yourself this, ” Is my love cantankerous or contagious?” “Are people drawn to me or do they avoid me?” If this question raises concern, then it is time for a self-examination. God commands us to love. Those days when people are not at their best, we are to love them anyhow. How do we love them? We love them without malice or rage. We love them without bragging or boasting. We love them without jealousy or haughtiness. We are kind and we are compassionate just as Christ is loving and compassionate toward us.

Prayer: There will be days when I don’t quite get it right. Please forgive me and help me Lord, to love others with the same love you have shown to me. Amen

Scripture: Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. 1 Corinthians 13:4

God is Listening

1/6/2020

Words have life. What a person says will ultimately begin to exist. It is vitally important to think before speaking and to seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance on what to say and how to say something to a person that you initially may want to give a piece of your mind. As Christians, we should always be careful and use wisdom with our tongue.

There will be days when a good tongue lashing is the best option, but we must keep in mind that we are the only Christ that some people will ever see. For us to represent the Father well, we must stick to the positive and do away with the negative. Speak to people as if you are talking directly to God and use your words carefully as if you are in front of a jury. In other words, what you say should be pleasing to God and how you say it should gain you the respect of your peers.

Prayer: When I want to say something that will cause someone pain, Lord, quiet my soul and give me words of love. Holy Spirit help me to speak life so my words can build and not tear people down. Amen

Scripture: The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:18

Now That’s Love!

1/3/2020

Love is a beautiful thing. To have someone who is faithful, loving, and kind in your life is a feeling highly sought after. This type of love is conditional. For the relationship to work, people are required to give the same love or more in return. Jesus’ love doesn’t come with conditions. His love is free and offers us salvation and deliverance. The next time you pray, take a moment and thank God for His amazing love. Take a moment to reflect on all the times God has blessed you, gave you extra grace, and answered your midnight emergency calls without asking for anything in return. Now this is love!

Prayer: Thank you for loving me first. Thank you Lord for your saving grace and power. If it had not been for your love, I don’t know where would I be. Amen

Scripture: We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19

Think Before you React

1/2/2020

Anger can be a dangerous emotion. If one is not careful, anger can lead to an altercation that will end up in words of regret and/or accusations that could cause permanent harm to families and relationships. God wants us free in every area of our life including our emotions. God wants us to be able to express our mind without causing harm or hurting the feelings of people we love, admire and respect. We must remember that we are a representation of God, and however we choose to act will be how people view the God in us. We are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13), and if we allow anger to make us lose our flavor, then we miss out on the chance to be great representations of the kingdom.

Prayer: When anger raises its ugly head, help me Lord to remember that I represent the kingdom. Teach me to tame my emotions and to allow the Holy Spirit to kindle my anger. Most important, help me to think before I react. Amen

Scripture: “When you are angry, don’t let that anger make you sin,” and don’t stay angry all day. Ephesians 4:26 (ERV)

Hope In God

1/1/2020

Hope gives us the illusion that what we want will happen for us. Hope keeps us in the realm of expectation, pushing away doubt and unexpected mishaps. When it comes to hope, our focus should be on things above and not of things of this world. Our minds should be so in tuned with God that we are able to look past the scope of a wish and trust God fully for the answers to what we need. Hope in God releases blessings. Hope in God preserve the remains of our losses and make them live again. Hope is the expectation of something happening. Hope in God is a guarantee that it will happen.

Prayer: Ignite my faith Lord, and give me the strength to hope in you alone. Amen

Scripture: but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

A Heart Transplant

12/31/19

Life can take people to a place where certain situations leave them sad, broken and confused. The pain is unbearable and leaves a horrible stain on the heart while giving the soul no hope to feel the passion for life again. Whether you have experienced a bad break-up, loss of a loved one, or a friendship, God can heal you and make you whole again. God will take your heart of stone and fill it with love and life. The only requirement to receiving this new heart is releasing your heavy burden at the corner of change and surrender.

Prayer: When my heart is in pain, give me the courage to release what hurts me, so I can learn how to live and to love again. Amen

Scripture: “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh” Ezekiel 11:19

Pick up your Weapons and Fight!

12/18/19

As a child, I was taught to fight with my fists. No weapons, just hands. When I became a Christian, I was taught to fight in the spirit. No hands just the word of God and prayer. Ladies, we are in the fight of our life. The battles we fight daily are not fighting fair. They are coming with a spirit other than God and their weapons are powerful, but so are yours.

When you feel as though you are losing a battle, take a moment to gain your momentum and go back in swinging with fasting, prayer and the word of God. You can beat the devil and win if you would put on your armor daily (Ephesians 6:10-18) and fight in the spirit. Stop going to battles half-dressed and unequipped. God has given you all that you need to fight the battle. All you need is faith, your weapons and God’s supernatural power to win

Prayer: Lord, teach me to fight the battles set before me. Help me to change my mindset from doubtful to victorious. Train me O’ God and give me the strength to pick up my weapons and fight. Amen

Scripture: The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4

SPEAK LOVE ALWAYS

12/16/19

Words hurt. Whether through conversation or paper, what you say will affect someone’s soul. God wants us to be a people filled with love and compassion, especially when it comes to our enemies. It doesn’t matter what they did or how they act, there is no retaliation, just kind words. On the days when there is nothing kind to say, don’t say anything at all. Ask God to give you the words to say and wait for the Holy Spirit to download His words of love and kindness into your heart.

Prayer: Lord, help me to speak words of love and kindness to my enemies. On days when my enemies are brutal, teach me to pray for the words that will comfort their unkind heart. Amen

Scripture: I will give you the wisdom to say things that none of your enemies can answer. Luke 21:15

Your Tongue is Life

12/10/19

Self-expression is a clean-cut way to tell someone how you feel and walk away without a care in the world. Be careful. Words cut and they have life. As women of God, we should be careful with the things we say and how we say them. Compassion allows you to weigh in on the other person’s feelings before you say your peace. Be kind in your speech. The thing you wanted to say should remain a thought that is replaced with a softer tone echoed with words of love.

Prayer: Help me Lord to tame my tongue. When I want to say something unchristlike, steer my thoughts in the right direction as wait for the Holy Spirit to give me the correct words to say. Amen

Scripture: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. Proverbs 18:21

You are what you Speak

12/9/19

Anxiety is the mother of all distractions. For a person to live life always wondering where the next wave of peace will come, takes away from today’s joy. Stop allowing anxiety to weigh you down. Easier said than done, but obtainable with the strength of God. Do something for yourself today. Speak words of life and encouragement instead of negativity and doubt. Trust that those good words are your truth and allow them to permeate the crevices of your soul to bring your heart a much-needed joy.

Prayer: Help me to see the havoc anxiety has unleashed in my life and give me the strength to overcome. Help me O Lord to see the good in myself so I can speak words of life that will manifest into the joy my heart and soul longs for. Amen

Scripture: Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

The Silent Partner

12/4/19

Ladies, we are planners at best. Holidays, social events, parties; You name it, we plan it! Everything we do involves a plan. Oftentimes, we become so involved with making things come together that we forget that it is God who orders our steps. Sure, the plan is written down and executed quite nicely, but nothing becomes a success without the creative hand of God.

Prayer: Lord, help me to acknowledge your creative work in my life. On days I want to take the applause for a great plan, guide my mind back to the one who guides me through it all.

Scripture: People can plan what they want to do, but it is the Lord who guides their steps. Proverbs 16:9 (ERV)

The Fear Factor

11/15/19

Fear can be crippling. Fear will raise unnecessary concern and began a downward spiral of anxiety. Although fear is a flight or fight response, what God did not do is make fear something that will hinder you from the joys of life. Today, let’s put fear in its place. Think of all the things you’ve ever wanted to do; inhale negativity then exhale power. Don’t worry about what you have and don’t have for the journey. Everything you need, God has already placed inside you.

Prayer: Lord, when fear tries to overtake me, gently remind me of who I am, who I belong to and what’s inside me. AmenScripture: For God hath not given us

Scripture: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

REJOICE. BE PATIENT. STAY PRAYERFUL.

11/14/19

Society have placed rules in our schools, jobs, and communities to establish some type of order. Whether we want to or not, rules must be followed although some are oftentimes broken. When it comes to a better life, God want us to follow three simple rules and that is to rejoice, be patient and be consistent. In expectation, have hope. When experiencing trials, have patience. While you are hoping and waiting, be consistent in your prayer life. Following these three rules will lead you to a life filled with breakthroughs, blessings and abundance.

Prayer: When life becomes too much for me, help me to understand that even you Lord have rules for your children to follow, and if I want to experience the fruit of the land then I must follow these rules and trust your plan for my life. Amen

Scripture: Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12 (ESV)

Worth the Wait

11/13/19

Waiting on God is a decision and not a choice. Oftentimes, we get so caught up in “doing me” that we forget that we have a Father who gets excited about blessing His children. When was the last time you told God that you would wait and monitored Him because He wasn’t moving fast enough? Trust God in all things. Even when life gets out of control, trust Him. His timing is impeccable, and His blessings are bountiful. Make the conscious decision to trust God today. I promise you; it will be worth the wait.

Prayer: Lord, when my patience begins to wear thin and I want to do life on my own, teach me to wait on you. Amen

Scripture: The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25 (ESV)

Bragging Rights

Bragging Rights

11/11/19

Rather than boasting about your new hair, new clothes or new shoes, try boasting on your weaknesses and how God came and rescued you in your time of need. Sometimes, the only way people can experience the power of Christ is through your deliverance, not what you did to help yourself, but what Christ did despite of your sins. Boast on God today and help someone see the power of Christ resting on you so they too can have the same freedom that you possess

Prayer: Material things don’t matter. What matters is how you watch over me, protect me and keep me when life has tried to consume me. Because of your saving grace, I will make a conscious decision to talk about you more so people can see the power of Christ within me. Amen

Scripture: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Be Love Wherever you Go. 11/7/19

11/7/19

There will be days when trying to muster up enough like to speak to someone will be hard to do. There will be days when your emotions are not in check and you want to spew words of anger and hate. Although your feelings may seem valid, God still wants us to show up in love. When we put on the coat of love, we send peace and calm into the atmosphere. So, it doesn’t matter how the boss if acting or how the person has received you, when you have love, it just makes everything come together.

Prayer: In a world filled with hatred, Lord help us to love. Give us the spirit of compassion, to not overlook a wrong but to see past the person’s pain and learn their heart. Amen

Scripture: Above all, be loving. This ties everything together perfectly. Colossians 3:14

Time to Unload

11/6/19

Worrying is one of the main causes of emotional stress. In order to have peace of mind, we must learn to trust God with our unknown and give Him the burdens we are not meant to carry. Understand, that God did not create us to worry, but he created us to praise and worship Him with our whole heart. On the days you feel your load is too much to carry, drop them off at the loading dock of God’s rest and allow Him to lighten your heavy load.

Prayer: On the days that life seem too much to bear, I will lay my burdens at the altar. I now understand that I can’t handle this load alone and wish to find release and sweet peace for my troubled soul. Amen

Good Medicine

10/31/19

When was the last time you had fun? When was the last time you did something that had your gut busting with laughter? God says, its time. It’s time to release yourself of the pain of this world and discover your joy! Medicate the pain in your heart. Tell your soul that it’s had enough and that you are ready to enjoy all the good that life has to offer.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for sending me on a day of discovery and fun. You’ve taught me that release isn’t always spiritual but emotional as well. I will discover my joy. I will smile again. Amen

Scripture: Happiness is good medicine, but sorrow is a disease. Proverbs 17:22 (ERV)

Rejoice Anyway

10/30/19

There will be times when it is hard to put a smile on your face. There will be days when you feel like giving up. Take the focus off your situation and place your focus on God. When you begin to think about all the wonderful things God has done for you, there will be no time for sadness but a time for rejoicing.

Prayer: Lord, help me to see the good in life even when life seems bad. Amen

Scripture: Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4

It’s Okay to Cry!

10/28/19

There will be times when you want to ask for help but can’t. You either feel alone or are ashamed to express how you really feel. On days like this, take a moment and pour out your heart to God. Give Him everything you are feeling so when you are done your soul can be at ease. Trust God with everything even when you feel you have nothing.

Prayer: Help me God to trust you when my soul is pained. Help me set aside my pride and cry out to you so you can save my broken spirit. Amen

Scripture: When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34: 17:18

It is Possible!

10/11/19

Daily, we make excuses as to why we can’t do the thing we really want to do. Why be fearful when Jesus has confirmed that all things are possible with the Father. Even when your mind says you are not capable, God intervenes and says, “with me it is possible.” So, what’s stopping you now?

Prayer: Lord, help me to see that nothing is impossible when it comes to you. Amen

Scripture: But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

You’re Being Chased!

10/4/19

There is nothing like the assurance that God is chasing you down to bless you. Even in times of trouble, God is holding back demons, rearranging mountains and creating rivers of hope so you won’t give up and stay in expectation of your blessing. No need to yield or to stop to find His location, God is right behind you with boxes of blessings stamped with the words surely and goodness on it!

Scripture: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalm 23:6

You Do it so Well

9/27/19

You were born with gifts and talents that make people wonder why you do what you do so well. Just for a second, imagine where you would be if you offered your gift(s) as a sacrifice back to God. The possibilities for your destiny would be endless!

Prayer: Today Lord, I give my gifts back to you. I know I wouldn’t have made it this far without your help. I want to see where my greatness will take me. Lord, here is my gift because I desire to be greater than I am now. Amen

Scripture: You will help me do even greater things. You will comfort me again. Psalm 71:21

Don’t Change A Thing

9/26/19

God’s creation is nothing short of beauty and excellence. When God created you, He had the best in mind. The lips you hate, God made them. The hair you complain about, God counted every hair and gave you what He thought you needed. Even that beautiful figure of yours that you have tried endlessly to change. Yes, God created that too! Instead of trying to change what you don’t like, change your perception of yourself and begin to appreciate who you are.

Prayer: Lord, help me to see myself as you see me. Amen

Scripture: You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you. Song of Solomon 4:7

The Same Grace

9/1/19

Everybody wants to be treated with love and respect. The way you treat others should be a representation of how you want others to treat you. In your worst state of sin, God loved you and called you His own. If ever you should feel the need to mistreat someone, begin to dig deep and remember that the same measure of grace given to you is the same measure you should give in return.

Prayer: Lord, help me to love as you love and show others the same mercy you shave shown me. Amen

Scripture: Do to others as you would have them do to you. Luke 6:31 (NIV)

Don’t Get Distracted

8/31/19

When my best friend taught me how to drive, she would always say “don’t look to the left nor to the right. Nothing is for you over there. Look straight ahead.”

While on this Christian journey, we sometimes get off course by looking at things that capture our attention and fog our focus. Distraction is a sure way to get off course and began doing the opposite of what God told us to do. Oftentimes when we venture off on our own, we let go of God’s hand and wonder off to people and places that mean us no good. In order to stay focused, we must ask God to order our steps so we can stay connected to Him by living a righteous and holy life.

Prayer
Lord, help me to live a holy, righteous, and bountiful life. When I feel as though I want to get off course, help me to stay grounded in your word and spiritually connected to you. Amen

Scripture
Don’t let me look at worthless things.  Help me live your way. Psalm 119:37

God Cares

May 23, 2022

Anxiety is a monster. A monster that steals your thoughts and makes you seem as though life is falling apart when in actuality it’s not falling apart at all. In moments like these, God is near. Near enough to handle your issues and to love on you at the same time.

Take your anxieties to God. Let Him know that life is scary and you can’t do it alone. Once God frees you of them, that’s when the weight of the world will be released from your shoulders and you will be given joy in exchange for your pain.

Prayer: When my world seems to be falling apart Lord, come rescue me. Take my burdens and restore to me the strength to walk away letting my trust be without borders. Amen

Scripture: Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
